Three Reasons Why

Here’s an easy activity that will help the child you mentor develop higher level thinking skills and could also give you a better understanding of your child’s life outside of school. Ask your child to think about the reasons why certain things happen the way they do, but the reasons should be believable…this is an activity that you could do each week when you meet, but you made need to model how this is done until your child gets the hang of it. Here are some questions to get you started…..
LIST THREE REASONS WHY…..
1. a car might not start
2. a batter might not get to first base
3. you might go to the grocery store
4. a house may not have people in it
5. your feelings might hurt
6. your feet might hurt
7. a dog might bark
8. you might be late for school
9. you get a bad grade on an assignment
10. your friends won’t play with you
