Summer break…even at the age of 40 it is still as much fun as it was for me when I was a child growing up! There have been many visits to the lake, the pool, and to friends, which has given my family lots of quality time to just connect with each other. But, I can’t help thinking about the little boy that I mentor. What does he do all day in the summer? Does he have enough food to eat? Is anyone watching him? For those of you mentoring a child, I imagine you share these same concerns. Two things that you can do to help your child this summer….first, call your prayer partner and ask them to pray for your child. It’s simple, yet so powerful. Second, if you have your child’s address take a minute to mail them a little note. Just remind them that you care for them and can’t wait to see them again next school year. Again, this is so simple, but also so meaningful to a child.
Babbling Brooke will return to weekly blogs when school starts in September! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
