Top 3 reasons I love Ohio (No, this isn’t a bet I lost as a Michigan fan, to our friends to the south):
1. The Community Connection TV Show (Youngstown, OH). This Easter Sunday, a most remarkable message will be telecasted about the power of God’s love and hope to change lives. No, it won’t be from a church service. It will be a community show highlighting the remarkable impact of Redeemer Lutheran’s Kids Hope USA on the kids of Woodside Elementary School. Now the church is being asked by the schools to help recruit more church partners!
We see this throughout Ohio, and throughout the rest of the country. Kids Hope USA Church Director Sue Ann Taylor is leading the movement in eastern Ohio to see more schools matched with church partners.
2. The Nehemiah Foundation (Springfield, OH). This local leadership foundation has partnered with Kids Hope USA to match every elementary school in Springfield, and to spread into nearby districts. Because of their work to start and spread a movement in their area, hundreds of kids are meeting each week with a caring mentor.
And thanks to the ongoing work of this remarkable partner and the number of churches they are sharing the vision of KHUSA with, we are planning a Director Training in Springfield this summer!
3. Okay, there’s a third reason that may be the biggest in Kids Hope USA history in Ohio, but I am running out of room. So stay tuned!
Reaching 12,665 children through 774 church-school partnerships…and growing!
