Mr. V, had very little experience working with children and was exteremely nervous about working with Parker, a second grader who had already undergone eight surgeries related to to his Velocardiofacial Syndrome. “What if he doesn’t like me?”, he asked his KIDS USA HOPE Director.
Towards the end of their first year together, Parker asked Mr. V, “Can you be with me again next year?”
Mr. V said, “Yes, I will be with you next year.”
Parker asked, “Can you be with me the year after that?’
Mr. V said, ” Yes, Parker, I will be with you the year after that.”
Then Parker asked, “Can you stay with me all the way through college?”
Mr. V said, “Parker, I will be there when you graduate from college!”
