A Mentor’s Perspective on Prayer

“After the first year of being a mentor, I had my doubts about whether I was making a difference in the life of my mentee, Hudson.  Hudson did not ever seem like he was warming up to me or enjoyed spending our time together. That was all erased my second year back with Hudson when I went to get Hudson from class for the first time after summer break. Hudson was ecstatic when he seen me at the door of his classroom. Hudson gave me a big smile, jumped out of his seat and almost ran out of the door to greet me while announcing my name out loud as he left the classroom. This excitement has now carried over week after week. If that does not make people feel appreciated, then I do not know what will! However, I don’t think I had very much to do with this- I believe that Hudson’s enthusiasm came from the prayers my prayer partner has said each and every week when Hudson and I are together. These prayers have allowed the Holy Spirit to work within Hudson!”

Thank you, faithful prayer partners for surrounding the relationship between a mentor and mentee in prayer! You’re making a difference in the life of a child, one prayer at a time!
